Possible to implement alternate text input method?

Hi,

I've been thinking on how to improve on the text input method on the iphone. Of all the PDAs/smartphones I've used, the PalmOS Graffiti system has been the one that was fastest to use for me.
I haven't found any implementations for the iphone, though.

After some googling, I found this very interesting alternative called Quikwriting, which is a shorthand writing technique which never requires you to lift the pen/finger, supposedly up to 3 times faster than Graffiti.
The idea seems to be about 10 years old, developed by the NewYork University media research lab, more info here

It seems quite straightforward to implement the logic, but I have no idea of how hard it would be to hack/replace the current keyboard with this.

I would be great to be able to write FAST on the iphone!

Thoughts from any developers in here?

yea i tried it its pretty cool and i wish and hope that someone could build the for the iphone but you can chose to use that way or the normal way. and its not like u hav to member the letter config cus that pic will be in the place of the keyboard. if you a reading this i highly suggest u go and try it out.
