yeah write and compile a new version for iphone

unless opera has released a beta or source code then you would have to install the beta or compile the source code and build a UI

Short answer no

It's pretty well known by now that Apple blocks competitors from their store.I know that Opera’s engineers have developed a version of Opera Mini that can run on an Apple iPhone, but Apple won’t let the company release it because it competes with Apple’s own Safari browser."
So,shortly no...

Apple gets money from Google for us using Google in Safari, right? That's the only reason why I can see Apple not letting Opera in the App Store.

there is absolutely no reason why they sould do this

it doesnt matter at all if someone's software competes with apple's we bought an iphone already and arent buying apples software anymore

the only reason is if they are planning to update in the future

Well, if Google pays Apple less money to be the default search engine in Safari because less people are using Safari on the iPhone, then Apple is losing profit and that's a good enough reason for Apple to not allow browser competition on the iPhone. Everyone already knows how greedy Apple is.
