Is there anyway the iPhone could be used as a remote controll for your TV? This would literally be awesome and it would complete the iPhone!

LOL this may not even be possible but I did not think a lot of the stuff that we can do on the iPhone could be possible

Not possible, unless your TV is Wifi capable, which I highly doubt it is. Other cell phones/pdas are able to do this since they include old school infrared support.

There is already a project to do this using the audio out jack and an IR adapter for it.

I don't think they've gotten up to using the IR face sensor to read signals tho, they are using a PC USB adapter to read the signals and create the audio files.
