silent/vibe on off springboard button

Hey guys. After searching around google for hours and coming up with nothing on this, i was wondering if maybe one or some of you smart people out there can come up with a spring board button that will switch your phone from normal to vibrate/silent like the hard button does on the side of the phone

The reason why i ask this, is i have a first gen i phone handed down to me and has no warranty left on it. After i got it accidentally dropped it and now the toggle switch to go from normal to silent/vibrate is broken.

I have read a lot of people have this exact problem and just wondered if there is a way one of you hackers can get around this problem by having a speaker icon on the springboard that will switch from normal to silent/vibrate?

My vibrate/ring slider is also broken. This type of app would be very helpful.
