Missed call/ sms notification request

Im sure a lot of you out there like myself are kind of annoyed that the iphone doesnt come with some type of visual notification that you have missed a call or have a text message waiting for you. So last night i was thinking is there a way that a program could be made that will make the entire screen or a portion of the screen flash a red color(or whatever color you want) if you have a missed call/sms?

I know nothing about app development so i wouldn't even know where to begin to make this myself, but i know a lot of you are smart when it comes to this and thought i would throw out the idea..

what do you guys think?

I don't understand what you're wanting when you say the whole screen flash. There are apps out there like Notifier that will vibrate every 5 mins or whatever depending on how you tweak the settings.

That's right Notifier, will buzz, make any sound you set it to. When you misses a call, voicemail, have a text message, email ect... Its great app with a lot of options.

im not sure about the intelliscreen notifier. But simply what im saying is on the blackberry's and a lot of other phones out there have a little led at the top that will flash a color when you have a missed call. Well because there is no little led at the top of the iphone i thought it would be neat to have a program that will have a portion or the whole screen flash a color when you have a missed call or a sms waiting for you that is unread.

Yes i know about sound notifications but im talking about a visual notification.
