Text message alerts in Cydia

Over the past several weeks Cydia has been flooded with ringtone packages which is awesome! I'm wondering if the same principal could be used to write programs to add sounds to text messages.

It replaces sms-received1 "Tri-Tone" and the sent/received sounds you hear in the app.

Since there's such a "market" for text tones let me ask. Do you guys want actual tones (beeps, chimes, etc) or like song snippets?

I did that for a friend actually - worked out fine. What song snippets would you want in a pack of six?

what did you use to make the snippets, what format are they in, and how do you assign them? is it via a hack or through an app?

Its easily done through Winterboard. I edited my files using Audacity and Garageband, exported to .aif renamed to .caf and boom. Making it a WB package keeps things safe and nondestructive also allowing users to have multiple choices for SMS tones without replacing the stock file.
