App for controlling iPhone
Okay, this is the one thing that windows mobile had that I want SO bad. I want to be able to control my iPhone FROM my PC. So, I want to be able to click on a box and it recognize it as a tap from my finger. And I want to be able to type on the iPhone from my computer keyboard.
Windows Mobile - My Mobile
That is the example of what I'm wanting. What is it about the iPhone software/hardware that won't allow for this?

You can do that.
Have a look on Cydia for Veency. It does just what you need.

wow, I've asked this question b4 and never had a response about it. I just googled it and it appears as if it will do exactly what i need! unfortunately i jacked up my iphone trying to update from work and i'll have to wait to get him to fix it. i will try that out asap though!
Thanks for the info!
Okay, Veency worked but this is my problem. What happens if I want to connect to my iPhone while connected via USB instead of Wifi. Is that possible using a VNC?
With windows mobile the iphone will actually have an IP address therefore allowing this sort of thing easily. When you connect your iphone to the computer does it not give you an ip address?Last edited by alaiwy; 10-06-2008 at 06:08 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Kwall, that is useful for sure. The problem i'm having is that i'm tunnelling fine and it's connected. It shows the 127.0.0.1 as you say but when i try to connect to TightVNC it says "Failed to connect to server (127.0.0.1)
Basically what i'm trying to do is connect to my iPhone at work and use my keyboard/mouse at my desk to control the iphone. My work doesn't have a wifi setup so i need to do that via USB. So far i haven't been able to find a way to do that. I can ping my iPhone while connected via USB. So connection issues aren't the problem.
Do you have any idea why it won't connect? Do I have to do something other than the ip address?
Thanks!Last edited by alaiwy; 10-07-2008 at 01:20 PM.

Um.. dumb question, but what uses would this have?
Get "iPod & iTunes for Dummies", it'll change your life.

Seems like a little too much like an I.E.D to me...*
*not intending to suggest the O.P. is intending this for its use.

Hah, I want to be able to sit at my desk with my phone away from me so that I can use programs like Palringo and Beejive to chat with friends w/o having to be tapping on my phone constantly. Bosses and other coworkers don't like it when you are texting for an hour in a day but if a box is up on my computer and i'm just using my mouse and keyboard there is no problem.
My work blocks all personal emails and chat programs. So i can use my phone to do it ON my computer but not using their internet which blocks everything.
Concerning IED I had to google that to learn what that meant and I don't even understand how this could be related to IED's. But that's probably because i don't know how to go about doing stuff like that lol
