great news, the application "appflow" has the ability to set the double tap function to whatever application you want it to just like iphone home did i just found that out a few minutes ago, i wouldnt normally use this application but i decided i wanted to see if they changed anything for the 2.0 firmware and alas they did so anybody that wants to reset the double tap function just install appflow and set it that way, hope this helps

Does this app work with 2.2? I downloaded it from cydia, and it shows the loading screen then bumps me back to my home screen. I'd really like to be able to change my double-tap. Any ideas?

^^^^^had the same issue. working on finding out if this is a permissions issue or something else the dev needs to know about.
and also doubletap reborn should be out soon and that app will be far better than iphonehome. im waiting for that one to be released like a hawk.Last edited by cricketlang; 12-04-2008 at 09:00 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Yeah, doubletap reborn looks pretty sweet, but I really don't need all of that. I just want to set an app to doubletap, that's all. Is there a plst I can edit myself or anything?

glad to hear you found it. ill be editing mine to launch the sms app. reason being i cant play with my phone too much at work...so i utilize that home button alot as i dont have to see it. then i use that triple tap to unlock hack, press it again to officially unlock it, and then twice to launch the sms app so i can text faster. iphones arent too popular here at microsoft. hahahaha

I never did get this to work. Did you? I think I couldn't find the right bundle identified for the app I wanted to use. You look in the desired apps info file, right. Any help would be appreciated.

Yes, you find the CFBundleIdentifier in info.plist inside the app.
As an example, AppFlow:
CFBundleIdentifier com.sadun.AppFlow
Note that the names are case sensitive.
Which app did you try?
