Dear Community,

ive been a iphone user since day one - and so it came that my standby/sleep button became more and more worn out. by now i have to press it really hard already - and im affraid that if i continue like that i wont be able anymore to go into DFU in case i need it.

beside that, i cant use the main function of the button anymore - which is to go to standby.

my request: is there someone who could code an app like lock.app already released for pre 2.x phones once? (see link: Lock - iClarified - Application for iPhone, iPod Touch - iAppCat)

idea is that i have an app on my springboard which i press and the phones display turns black (goes to standby), or at least goes to "slide to unlock" mode.

cant be a big deal, and as im not the only one with a 2G iphone, im sure there are some other ppl out there too with exactly the same problem


would be very glad to hear that someone takes care of it thank you guys,

that probably would be useful, i also have noticed my lock button doesnt work every time...i am just waiting a while, and i will go trade it in before the warranty ends in a couple months

thats exactly my problem - so i have 2 choices: wait for someone to hopefully programm a little utility like described above or open my iphone and risk destroying it completely (for replacing the part- which i still have to buy AND is already used... :/)

10 USD Donation for the one who either links me directly to the program described above (one click standby! no program entering, waiting, then klicking into standby. no respring and lock (bc it takes ages)) or who programs it quickly! sure, who guarantees for it? my honour, and if i say it would be worth it to me then i mean it, period.

the lock.app for pre 2.0 was just an example for the app i am exactly looking for! springboard with all the apps, then lock.app, click, and locked / standby.

for firmware 2.x, obviously

do we know who made the original app? It is probably just a simple port that the author didn't bother to do

if your button is messed up, just set the autolock for one minute, that will do the trick

anyone can set it to autolock, lol. I think he actually wants it to lock when he clicks something. I can see the utility over autolock. I have mine on autolock 1 minute but I still NEED to be able to lock it on demand (if for no other reason then o keep snooping eyes away!)

youre damn right sziklassy, i already have it set to one minute - but again it just happened that i unwillingly called a friend of mine by just having the phone in my pocket - with no autolock. i dont have no screen protection or a case neither (as i still see it as a phone, not as something holy )

ah btw, the author of the app seems to be XianLi / Bender (or Former Bender - inactive by now?), over at hackintosh
