GPS Application for iphone 3G

Hi ,

iphone 3G has a built in GPS, meaning it tracks you where ever you go. I dont have internet package with the phone. But if I turn on the GPS is shows a Blue Dot moving on white blank screen or cached maps for couple of miles in memory. After that its become white backround screen with blue dot moving.

I want to know is there any application which has like preloaded GPS maps, like a normal GPS so that we dont depend on internet connection to provide backround maps. Is it possible ? Does any one know of any such application or package that we can install ?

I also want to know how this offline google maps are done. There seem to be no guide on how to do this. Really appreciate it if anyone gives a guide on how this can be done.

hi, you mentioned download map offline... but where do we download those maps?

You have to have an internet connection on the phone for the maps to download.
