Hey All,

One of my buddies said he heard a rumor, that you can jailbreak your Iphone and install some app to turn it into a WAP? Anyone have any ideas?

WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) is simply another data protocol, for web browsing without Data costs. You can get what's called Mobile Navigate plans which include web browsing (to specific sites) and email, that's it. The only difference between this and EDGE is the server that's used for access.

Rogers for example uses APN: internet.com for WAP and APN: goam.com (usually) for Data.

I was referring to a wireless access point.. basically turning the iPhone into a wireless router..

You mean a modem so you can use the edges network on a computer, because if thats what were trying to get at there is an app available. Cydia
