small scale route drawing (eg parking lot) - Is anything already out there?

I'm not very familiar with all the applications that are out there so maybe this application already exists...

So I want to be able to walk in a parking lot with my iphone and then be able to see the route that I did.

This would be very useful for auto-x racing events - in these events you have 30 minutes prior racing that you allowed to walk a course that is defined by cones and get familiar with it. Many people are drawing maps and then trying to memorize the turns. It would be really neat if I could just walk the course while I'm holding my iphone (1 not 3g) and be able to get a drawing of it...

Let me know if there is already something out there.
