Well ,I have no idea if this is possible , but i read somewhere that the iphone has infrared . That is pretty cool , but what would be even cooler is if you can use it as a remote and controls T.V's. On some phones which have infrared , they can randomly connect to a t.v and control it would be useful for fun times.

I don't know if this is true but it it were possible imagine the fun.

There's no IR on the iPhone.
There's only the little sensor by the listening piece that turns of the screen to save power while you're talking.

They sell mini remote controls like that for like ten dollars on several different websites... I have one

As stated above, the IR port is just to sense whether the phone is against your ear or not. Nothing more
