Hi everyone,

Is there any software out there at the moment that can remote control the iPhone while it is connected to the computer or could software be made to do this.

I remember on my old sony ericsson P900 you could plug it in and a picture of the phone would show up on the computer and you could control the phone using the mouse and keyboard.

The reason i would like this is when i am at the office (work) and i get a text, instead of picking up the phone replying and all that it would be nice to just open up an app and use my computers keyboard to type the sms and send it without even touching the phone.

You reckon i am asking for abit too much here or can this be done?

Touchpad only works the other way around to control your PC from your iPhone, not vice versa.
As far as I know, what you're asking for hasn't been made yet although it should be possible.

what about that one app on cydia? vncee or something like that, you can use a vnc program on your pc to connect to your iphone and control it wirelessly.

lol, yea I've tried it. Haven't gotten a successful connection yet... TightVNC viewer should work just fine I'd think... No matter, its not a big deal to me.

Yes, VNC should work, do a search on utube for ipod/iphone and vnc. That should help.

SSH is cool. but how whould I use that given that IP is NOT available...
I can get into stratngers phones snooping networks but not mine, with the stolen iphone scenario. to be realistic. if one stole the phone he won't be in the same spot for long.

VNC huh??... didn't know they have a iphone client version.
I'll give it a shot tonight to see how much I can do to the phone remotely.
