01-23-2008, 08:55 AM #1Remote Control iPhone from Computer
Is there any software out there at the moment that can remote control the iPhone while it is connected to the computer or could software be made to do this.
I remember on my old sony ericsson P900 you could plug it in and a picture of the phone would show up on the computer and you could control the phone using the mouse and keyboard.
The reason i would like this is when i am at the office (work) and i get a text, instead of picking up the phone replying and all that it would be nice to just open up an app and use my computers keyboard to type the sms and send it without even touching the phone.
You reckon i am asking for abit too much here or can this be done?

Touchpad only works the other way around to control your PC from your iPhone, not vice versa.
As far as I know, what you're asking for hasn't been made yet although it should be possible.

For basic stuff, you could just use SSH...

what about that one app on cydia? vncee or something like that, you can use a vnc program on your pc to connect to your iphone and control it wirelessly.

lol, yea I've tried it. Haven't gotten a successful connection yet... TightVNC viewer should work just fine I'd think... No matter, its not a big deal to me.

Yes, VNC should work, do a search on utube for ipod/iphone and vnc. That should help.

SSH is cool. but how whould I use that given that IP is NOT available...
I can get into stratngers phones snooping networks but not mine, with the stolen iphone scenario. to be realistic. if one stole the phone he won't be in the same spot for long.
VNC huh??... didn't know they have a iphone client version.
I'll give it a shot tonight to see how much I can do to the phone remotely.
thanks all (I don't think this is over yet)

GUYS We kindda got drafted here. I don't have a problem remoting into my phone. the ((geek)) task in hand is to do it (RDP) into iPhone with an open client over the Internet, not over a network. with no given IP. Not VNC, I got Veency and took it off in an hour.
a) I was more into an open client over the Internet like as an example: logmein client or somthing; installed on the phone to enable access from the INTERNET
b)Veency server would enable any 2 years oldto remote into my phone if I'm on an open/public wi-fi. and he won't even worry about the accept/reject prompt.
let along any Unix Smarties like you guys.
c)I still need the client installed on the machine I'm remoting in with.
So back to reallity: Client for the iphone to allow remote into it over the Inetrnet and encrypted

I am looking for a program that allows me to see my iphone screen on my computer, and I can control my iPhone from my computer by viewing it on my PC but without internet, VNC, or any type of wireless connection, I want a direct connection locally from PC to iPhone via USB. Please help.. :/
