Hello captinkid,
Yes you can use iBrickr not necessarily have to use winscp.
and the General Settings is the iPhone's general settings, "Customize" you can install it from the installer. And it is normal that after you launch the program, it will show "system locked/unlocked" and return to springboard again. The logic is you virtually have 2 homescreen+setting. Try change ringtone or wallpaper then launch Locksmith. You will be back to springboard, now change ringtone and wallpaper again. Ok? now, when you launch Locksmith again, you will be back to the previous setting. See?
If you have "Customize" installed, you can: hide some apps on one screen, and reveal it again on other.
Hope this helps...

Help!
This app is an awesome idea, I'm really glad that you're working on it. I'm a complete noob when it comes to this iPhone hacking, and I've only installed apps through Installer. You say that you install Locksmith the same way you install Hide. Either i'm over looking it or it's not there, but I don't see any instructions on this thread to install Hide. I was wondering if anyone could help me out with installing this on my phone.
I have Customize installed on my phone already. I use Windows and the .zip file contains "Locksmith.app" folder, and a file "Locksmith.app" which will not extract from the .zip file. I've gone through iBrickr and copied all of the files in the folder over to \Applications\Locksmith.app\ The app shows up, I click it, it shows the "System Unlocked" screen for a little bit, then it goes right back to the springboard, with out restarting the phone and putting it into a "'virtual' locked" screen.
Do I have to have certain settings set on my phone, like have no Passcode set, or never lock automatically? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

hi emiderics, after u see 'system unlocked' picture, and back to springboard, try to hide 1 or several icons with customize, (but don't hide the customize icon and locksmith icon), after that click on locksmith, and it should show you 'system lock' picture, and you'll be back the screen BEFORE you hide the icons. that way virtually you have 2 home screen.
if you click the locksmith icon again, it will take you the screen that you have adjusted.
Hope this helps.

Ok, so I went through and did everything like you just said. I dunno if this would be a problem, but whenever I hide an icon in Customize and click home, it goes back to the springboard and shows the circle "waiting" icon in the middle of the screen, then restarts the springboard with the icons arranged the correct way(icons hidden). After that I click Locksmith, and whenever the System Unlocked screen goes away, everything looks the same as before I clicked Locksmith (icons are still hidden).
Am I putting the correct files onto my iPhone? The .zip contains Locksmith.app(folder) and Locksmith.app(.app file). I put all the contents of the Locksmith.app folder into \Applications\Locksmith.app\ Am I supposed to do anything with the Locksmith.app file?
Also, after I run Locksmith, does it create new files in the Locksmith.app folder or some other folder? B/c if it does, then I could tell if the program ran correctly or not.
The phone is running firmware 1.1.1, and has SummerBoard on it, so I dunno if that would be a problem?Last edited by emiderics; 01-09-2008 at 06:23 AM. Reason: Adding another question.

at least it serves as indicator for you to know whether you are in a lock or unlocked version of settings by just looking at the wallpaper.
