Idea for easier shortcuts
I just thought of a way that would make launching certain apps easier. I will give you an example:
say you want to call someone, u would simply double tap the signal bars.
Or you wanted to launch safari? Just double tap edge/wifi.
Now I know this wouldn't be easy to do (unless your apple who could do this in 5 minutes), but does anyone know how to start to accomplish this?
Ps. Sorry if this makes zero sense (i am using my iphone to type this which is something i rarely do) because it is late at night and I am worn out. And I just wanted to share this before I forgot

How is this better than a single click on the Safari or phone icon on the dock?

You would need very skinny fingers to press the signal bars.
Bought iPhone from Mall at Millenia in Florida, took home to UK and unlocked, currently using o2 SIM card

Yeah, this does seem pointless. You already have space on your homescreen for 20 shortcuts
To live, you have to lie

I am talking about universal (at anytime using the iPhone), not just at homescreen
Not a problem for me, to test just enable the numerical header battery(in extended preferences), if you double click on it, it switches between graphic and numerical. Not that hard to do
I am just saying for instance you were writing a email, but needed someones address, you would just double tap the signal bars and it would pop up the dialer. I know this can be done by assigning the double tap, but (as far as I know) you cannot have it set for more than one thing (like triple tap brings up another program.)Last edited by mfleigle; 05-11-2008 at 06:10 PM.
