Idea for easier shortcuts

I just thought of a way that would make launching certain apps easier. I will give you an example:
say you want to call someone, u would simply double tap the signal bars.
Or you wanted to launch safari? Just double tap edge/wifi.


Now I know this wouldn't be easy to do (unless your apple who could do this in 5 minutes), but does anyone know how to start to accomplish this?


Ps. Sorry if this makes zero sense (i am using my iphone to type this which is something i rarely do) because it is late at night and I am worn out. And I just wanted to share this before I forgot

Yeah, this does seem pointless. You already have space on your homescreen for 20 shortcuts

I am talking about universal (at anytime using the iPhone), not just at homescreen

Not a problem for me, to test just enable the numerical header battery(in extended preferences), if you double click on it, it switches between graphic and numerical. Not that hard to do

I am just saying for instance you were writing a email, but needed someones address, you would just double tap the signal bars and it would pop up the dialer. I know this can be done by assigning the double tap, but (as far as I know) you cannot have it set for more than one thing (like triple tap brings up another program.)
