The receiver is approximately the size of a matchbox! The software isnt available to iPhone, but is it possible to create something?

    No. That is standard bluetooth GPS receiver - there are hundreds of their models in the market. Looks like iPhone's bluetooth stack does not support required serial protocol currently.
