Request: App to take panorama shots (180°)
Hi guys,
again it's the noob asking for stupid things.
Does anyone know if there is an app out which I can use for taking panaorama shots with my iPhone?
I know that Sony Ericsson has this feature and I guess it can't be that hard to write such a tool, but as mentioned above I'm a noob and have no clue about programming.it's a raduletzgo

I believe that has to do with the camera, not the software. Sorry.

As far as I know, this could be done with software.
I first heard about this on a 8525.
What happens is you take a picture, it then shows the camera again, but overlays the first shot half way over and slightly opaque. You can then line up the first shot with the second and so on..

Dash-2 knows what I'm talking about.
It's a software thing and has nothing to do with the cam.
I'll explain it again.
You need to take three pictures with the cam.
One goes on the left, the other in the middle and the third ist for the right. You'll take the picture from the left to the right. Got me?
After you have taken the first pic, a transparent layer (to show a small piece of the last pic u have taken) will appear on the right side of the screen for the next pic and so on. Just to let you know where you have to hold the cam, then you'll the the second and then the third pic.
this is how ist looks:

Got it ?
And by the way the pic aboove is done with a Sony Ericsson W850i!
With this method you could even take 360° shots.Last edited by Raduletzgo; 11-07-2007 at 04:02 PM.

You can use a program like PTGUI to auto align and stitch the images together. It will even blend the seams between images.

I'm not exactly sure why you'd want to do this with an IPHONE, since the camera resolution is only 2mp. Plus you'd need a tripod or a steady hand so that the software can find common pixels for alignment unless you want to spend time in Photoshop.Last edited by jbeau; 11-07-2007 at 04:20 PM.

this app should not be hard at all to write. considering how many "photo" apps are out there for the phone it really doesnt seem that this would be hard to create

That would be pretty awesome! I'd love to be able to do that next year at the Marian Days (In Carthage, MO).

while they are at it, or possibly apple itself could make an update on the next firmware for digital zoom, the camera still picks up the image but the software could do the work
and raduletzgo, i also had a sony ericsson, w800i, before i made the jump to the iphone and the only thing i was disappointed by was the camera, the sony had a 2mp cam but it was just so much better, with autofocus and many other tools. in fact my last trip to germany and iran i used the sony as my main camera and no one could even tell, i wish that some sort of firmware update could make this camera into something to brag about.Last edited by kurosh; 11-10-2007 at 08:24 PM. There's an app for that
PANORAMA
Google it.
I'm obsessed with it currently.
This is what I've done so far
And I couldnt believe it.
It's super easy to use
Does landscape or portrait.
And you can choose the final resolution of the picture.
