Wifi Alarm

Ok this is an application request for a wifi alarm

An application in which you can add wifi access points to a list (saved by MAC address), then set the iPhone to scan for wifi networks on a regular bases( user configurable) and then play an alarm sound if any of the access points are detected!

The idea of this would be that on a journey via train or bus before you go you can scan for wifi access points save them so that on the return journey if you suffer from commuter syndrome ( falling asleep) an alarm would sound when you are approaching your stop!

What do you think and would anyone consider writing such an applicaton?

obviously i understand this would drain the battery but the concept seems good and if your on your way home chances are you'll get there and put your iphone in the dock.

why not put the phone alarm to go off after X hours when you get on the train :S

ell for me deppending on what train I get it takes different times to get to the same destination!

might be easier to get an iphone app that is a map of your train system with each stop on it.

you could have little push buttons for each stop.

press the station button you get on, then press your destination.

using the apps saved train travel time, an alarm would be set automatically.

but the wifi alarm is an interesting idea.

Actually it would be better if a little beep played (or maybe a sound you choose) and when your close to some wifi, it would beep or play the noise you set. I like this idea.
