Random Restaurant Picker
All the time I'm trying to decide with my friends and girlfriend where we should eat and it always takes forever to decide. I think it would be awesome to make a little app that would randomly choose where you would be eating, maybe by choosing a couple different numbers or colors or something, then it would spit out a restaurant. Or maybe just hit a button and it would do it. It'd be cool if it had some places already in the app like McDonalds, Wendy's, places like that that are everywhere but if you could also add some for specific places you know?
I know this can't be hard to make, so that would ROCK if someone could make it happen, maybe with some screenshots of the big restaurant chains too?? I hope!

Sadly, my coworkers have discussed this
It needs to remember where you've been to not be too repetitive, but should allow for repeats.
You should be able to put in where you go for the memory in case you must go somewhere sometimes.
Maybe it should accept preferences so it can adjust frequency based on negative opinions...

random restaurant picker
There are a couple of these already.
For the iPhone:
Lunch Adventure! Welcome [website] price: free (working but features still being added)
urbanspoon [app picks] price: free
Where To? [app with more than just restaurants, might not pick for you] price: $2.99
As the developer of Lunch Adventure! Welcome I am somewhat biased. But I enjoy using it because it works on everything that has an internet connection (iPhone, Blackberry, Computer, Mac, Windows, Linux, PDA, etc.)
I've used Urbanspoon and it is nice for the iPhone but the first version kept crashing, and it seems to think i want to drive any distance it tells me and it sorts by area not by distance from me. So it wasn't all that smart, i am preparing to develop an iPhone app, but until then i just use my Lucnh Adventure.
I've never used Where To? because it costs money.

Came across this app yesterday, New app The Eatery tracks eating habits rather than calories. Taking photos of your food is becoming a typical practice for many. Putting up photographs of "food porn" on Facebook is becoming commonplace. It's a fun way to make your friends salivate. But can that exercise also have health benefits? Massive Health is saying it can with The Eater, its new experimental application for iPhones. This is where your friends can encourage your weight-loss program and also recommend good places to eat.
