Perian for iPhone

I can't believe I haven't seen anyone suggest this yet, but why not Perian for iPod on the iPhone? Is this even possible at this stage or will we have to wait until the iPhone SDK is released? Even then, I doubt Apple would approve such a plugin. They are choosy about the apps they approve on their downloads website.

I too want it desperately. I m even ready to pay for it if required. Converting DVDs to mp4 is OK but converting AVIs, Divx movies to mp4 results in serious quality loss and still increased file size. And its just a pain to convert all your videos.

I suscribe, a perian port would be awesome. I could use it with telekinesis to see videos from my mac without reencoding. (ej on bed, and my girlfriend would be happy to have me there ;-)
