invite to appointments & share contacts

Can anyone make an application where I can invite someone to an appointment and have them accept and it go into their calander. Like you can do from outlook? Or where I can send a contact to another iphone and have it added to thier phone?

on my old phone my wife was able to beam me an appointment (bluetooth) and it would go into my calander. Now it can only be done from outlook itself? on the computer?
