My iPhone 3GS was jail broken but kept restarting. I downloaded tiny umbrella and saved. I then tried to restore my phone but the guide I used hadn't advised me to download the old software. I had some older version so just clicked that but it wouldn't work. I therefore thought I would just do a standard iPhone restore and lose the jailbreak until 5.1 is done. However now the iPhone won't restore and I get error 1015. I've tried it on two pcs. Any ideas how I fix this? Thanks

Just opened tiny umbrella with phone and get message:-

    Cannot start TSS service
    Do not try restoring device
    Tinyumbrella 5.10.10.exe(pid:4600) must be killed!!

    Please advise

That means you have two versions of TU in your computer. Remove the older one and it should get fixed.

    To fix the 1015 error:

    Navigate to: C:/Windows/system32/drivers/etc

Now open the hosts file with notepad.

Now write this to the end of the hosts file:

    74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com

Now save and you should e good to restore
