Help! Jailbroken iPhone 3GS on 5.0.1 but unable to connect to any WiFi.
Hello,
So I've had my iPhone 3GS for some time now and decided to upgrade it to the 5.0.1 jailbroken. At first the phone was always stuck at the activation screen where it tells me to stick it into iTunes where iTunes would tell me that there is something wrong with my iPhone and forced me to bring it into the Apple store. So I jailbroke my phone with redsn0w 9.10b3 and went through all that process. I also have the "No Service" problem which the jailbreak process was suppose to fix. From all that jailbreaking, all I can use the phone as is a iPod. I can't connect to WiFi because it won't let me. You can see it in the pictures attached.
So my question is, how can I make the WiFi work and how can I fix the "No Service" problem? I'm on AT&T carrier.
My next question is, How can I downgrade from here? I've tried the custom firmware trick where I hold Shift and click Restore then find the firmware. That only gave me the Error code 3194. I tried to fix that too but only set me back to where i started. Please help me out because Apple won't. Thanks!

i am having the same problem on 2 iphones 3gs that i just unlocked, it happened before but i had to jailbreak them both again to make the wifi work, and it still happened again.. what should i do with it?
it keeps on trying to find networks while i know for sure there is a network because i am connected to it through my other iphone 4.
and the 2 iphones 3gs, i insert the sim after the unlock with redsn0w and it immediately says sim card failure, and it knows that the carrier is my carrier (Cellcom) but does not have service, is that because the sim card i inserted is not 3g?
please help people, i think this is an important bug.

Do you see a modem firmware anywhere on the about page? It didn't look like it.

When you say nothing... You mean it's not there or there's nothing in that field? Also what about the Bluetooth field & the wifi field?
If you've got nothing in the modem firmware field or it doesn't exist... Sounds like you've got a brick...
Sounds like you tried to unlock it, but what did you use?Last edited by Susty; 02-15-2012 at 03:17 PM.

Unfortunately going by that screenshot... It looks like you have an expensive brick
the modem firmware is blank, no imei, no Bluetooth & no wifi... So it's most likely your baseband corrupt..
You can try to do a restore using a stock Firmware & see if that will fix it... Though I'm not sure it will to be honest.

Ah... I see you probably used the iPad baseband... you have to downgrade to iOS 4.1 (last firmware without the baseband check)
Once there, upgrade to iOS 5.0.1 custom firmware. It must have the "preserve baseband" and patch out the baseband check.
If no iPad baseband, Try a DFU restore (DFU mode -> restore)iDevices: Lots, most jailbroken

A bricked iphone is what you have now. Even a restore to stock firmware will not bring back your missing baseband, wifi etc . But you can still use it as an Itouch
