So I've downloaded 2 separate files, a custom firmware file for an old and new bootrom for iPhone 3GS.
I accidentally restored the old bootrom file into the iphone and goes on white screen after a few hours.
I discovered that I should use the newbootrom file instead because I have the iBoot new bootrom version.
The problem is, no matter what method I used (tiny umbrella or manually editing the hosts file) error 3194 appears.
It is disturbing that why is it that on the restoration using the old bootrom file, I didn't get the 3194?
I noticed that the dialogue box after you selected the New bootrom custom fw file (...something that says itunes will verify the restore with apple and you have to select between restore and cancel) doesn't appear when I tried to use the old bootrom fw file.
Please help. Need it so badly.
