    Default Which iOS is better?

    hi trying to decide which ios to run on my 3gs either 5 with jailbreak or 3.1.3 with jailbreak (trying to decide which would be better in terms of phone speed and overall phone quality)

    iOS 5 has big performance improvements over iOS 4. I'd go to iOS 5 to get access to iCloud and iMessage. Both are so worth it.
    Until the next time… And if I help you out, give me a "Thanks!" Thanks!

    But these added functions include lag, especially the Wallpaper/Lockscreen. Also, if you are keeping it jailbroken, than adding themes and tweaks would only slow it down. I recommend keeping it at 3.1.3

    iOS 5 is better, if I had to refer to your post title. But you said iPhone 3GS, and jailbreak. These three can't go together well if you want speed, unless you know what you are doing

    4.2.1 is best on 3GS I always say!!...5.0.1 works ok but is a memory and storage hog..n eats battery a bit faster...

    But 3.1.3 performance wise is most likely better..but so many games n apps want at least 4 or even 4.2.1...

    Preserve baseband!!

    Yes, but the Goitom doesn't want to go to iOS 4. It's a simple question: iOS 3 or 5 with jailbreak? I recommend iOS 3 for the speed, but if you want all the functions (the cost of speed) and all the app compatibility, then switching to iOS 5 is a good idea.

    Goitom wants to balance speed with this as well. Because Goitom is going to jailbreak to iOS 5.0.1 and obtain iOS functions, the iPhone 3GS will slow down (there is no doubt).

    @Goitom

    Downloading a small amount of Tweaks and System Apps is okay, but if you are adding a large amount (Winterboard slows down your iPhone 3GS considerably), than you will lose a lot of speed in the process. I would only recommend updating to iOS 5.0.1 if you are only install small amounts of tweaks. Otherwise, keep your speed quicker my staying at iOS 3.1.3.
