Downgrade to which iOS to unlock?
I have SHSH on file with Cydia from at least 3.1, a 3GS with old bootrom and currently running 4.3.2 with 5.16.02.
I upgraded without realizing I'd be locked and didn't even think I'd be changing carriers.
A year ago or more, I downgraded to change basebands in one of the 3.0+ OS' to prove I had different reception in my home when there was a BB upgrade (it went from 5 bars consistently to maybe 3, whenever the height of the first bar was changed)... I decided to just deal with that in order to be up to date as long as I was still able to JB.
So, if this is possible- how far back do I need to downgrade in order to be able to unlock? Why does it seem like this isn't an option when I search, at this point? Is my baseband really not going to change, no matter which OS I can successfully downgrade to?
I know I can get the iPad baseband, I don't want to go to any "permanent measure" yet.

your only option now is to jailbreak and unlock with iPAD baseband on 4.3.2 since u have the shsh saved , u can forget about having a baseband unlock cos honestly iDEV team hasnt had a legit baseband unlock for the iPhone in over a year !
So its iPAD baseband or use the official carrier that came with ur iPhone , if u need help with downgrading and putting the iPAD baseband feel free to ask !
P.S. iDev team "was" suppose to be working on a way to downgrade ur baseband if it was on iPAD but dont know what happened with that , and the only thing wrong with the iPAD baseband is ur Navi system like TOM TOM wont be on point but everything else works even the GPS (just a few feet off)

So you covered most every thing I already know, but thank you.
It's IMPOSSIBLE to downgrade my baseband at this point, as in, it's locked on my phone forever?
As I have pointed out, I've downgraded basebands before. So, this happened with this particular baseband? Is there a Dev document you can point me to?
