Accidental upgrade to latest 4.3.x FW from 4.0

My friend accidentally upgraded his 3G(s) old boot-rom iPhone from 4.0 to the latest version (4.3.5).
No he would not have saved the last Blobs as he knows nothing about that. I did his last upgrade from 3.1.2 prior.
How do I downgrade?
I'm not sure I understand what Tiny Umbrella does, but I did run it.

So far I have set to DFU, so iTunes says they have detected a phone in recovery.
I tried downgrading to 4.1 - got a 1601 error
I also tried a custom 4.1 FW - got a 1601 error
I tried a custom 3.1.2 FW - got a 1015 error

I even tried a regular restore to 4.3.5 and it says that the iPhone is "not eligible for this build"

RecBoot won't kick it out of recovery mode. Neither did Tiny Umbrella

Baseband the iPhone is 05.16.02-6.4_M3S2
Any thoughts and suggestions welcome

okay i would suggest make a custom ipsw with sn0wbreeze for 4.1 then download iREB4 put ur iPhone in DFU and click 3GS , wait , then open up iTunes and do the shift+restore (in sn0wbreeze make sure in advanced u turn off activation)
choose the ipsw u just made and it will start the process , it should work all the way though and give u no errors , but if it does and it gets stuck on the recovery loop all u got to do is use TU "kick out of recovery" and u should be good to go !

Thanks for the suggestion, but I believe Sn0wbreeze and iReb4 are a Windows, not Mac, solution. I'm a Mac user. I don't have a Windows partition. But this could be an excuse to get one. I had tried making a custom 4.1 with pwnage 4.1.3. In iTunes it started loading up everything and reached about 3/4 way on the progress bar on the iPhone then quit with an Error 1015 and the iPhone went into Recovery Mode loop (USB Picture)

okay thats good news , now all u need to do is use Tiny Umbrella for Mac and click "exit recovery" and it should Finnish the process !

When I used TU to "exit recovery" I am now getting the Emergency Screen. I now have successfully down graded to 4.1
The baseband is 05.16.02
f0recast v1.3 is saying upgrade to iPad baseband

I used Pwnage 4.3.3 to create a custom ipsw using FW 4.3.3 and iPad 3.2.2 but iTunes is saying "ineligible for this build"
So I built another custom ipsw using pwnage 4.1.3 and FW 4.1 and iPad 3.2.2 now I get an error 1600

I used Greenpoison to JB FW 4.1 but how do I upgrade BB to 6.15 ?

u must activate ur iPhone using the original sim card, or do a hack-activation (i believe to hack-activation u need to make a custom ipsw and choose it in the advanced options !)

Can you point me to a tutorial?

Do I just load up Redsn0w 9.6 b6 with the iPad 3.2.2 ipsw and then DFU and install?

U need to download stock 3GS 4.1 firmware to use with Redsn0w.


Then do some research on upgrading to a different firmware.
