I'm trying to factory restore my iPhone 3GS to 4.3. It's currently jailbroken on 4.2.1 and unlocked, but im trying to update to factory settings so i can sell the phone... After the restore goes through, I get the 1015 error... is it possible to boot the phone (with like tinyumbrella)though if 4.3 is installed??

No. But you could try the fix recovery option in TinyUmbrella. Just set your phone in DFU, click that option, then restore with iTunes.
