iphone messed up NEED HELP

I have an Iphone 3Gs version 4.1. I jail broke it using green poison some time ago. A couple days ago not knowing what would happen I tried to uprade to version 4.3, it came up with error code 1604 and is now stuck in recovery mode, I ct restore it because it will not allow me. Is there anything i can do to fix this or am i screwed?

Are you just trying to install a regular 4.3 on it? You can try using another computer or uninstalling then reinstalling itunes and see if that helps you restore.

ok i tried the uninstall and reinstall of iTunes thne proceeded to restore my phone it still comes up with error code 1604.

I had this issue as well with my iPod touch 4G when I upgraded to iOS 4.2.1. First you should try to reassign the drive letter for the phone in device manager if you're using windows. If this doesn't work (which it didn't for me) I used a 4.1 ipsw file to restore (clicking shift + restore and selecting the 4.1 os file) which installed 4.1. Then I manually downloaded 4.2.1 (4.3 in your case) and used that file using this same technique to upgrade to the latest iOS. Hope that helps.

I got it back up and running. Had to use another pc. Sucks though because I lost all my jailbroken apps and stuff. I will just have to wait for the next JB.
