I am new to JB scene and I have not have much luck trying to find help with google. I am hoping you guys could help me out.. Here is my problem, I have a 3G on 4.2.1 on 5.15.04 bb that I was able to unlock using snowbreeze 2.2.1 using custom ipsw. I was not able to JB and Unlock using redsnow .9.6b5 or 0.9.6rc8 as it gets stuck on the black screen after it says finish and I don't see any flashing on the phone. Which is why currently I am jailbrocken using snowbreeze. My question is, can I downgrade my fw and baseband as I have saved previous shsh prior to upgrading. Or if you can point me how to get redsnow to work and go pass the blackscreen to be able to upgrade my baseband to 6.15 so I can unlock it. which is my ultimate goal..
Your current bb is currently not unlockable. You can unlock with ipad bb but you might lose your GPS functionality. It is your call. If you want to unlock it with ipad bb, then restore to stock 4.2.1 first , run redsn0w to install ipad and jailbreak it with GP
I did just that and after several tries I just get stuck with a black screen on my Iphone without it rebooting although redsnow 0.9.6b5 and 0.9.6rc8 says it finished. I have tried changing affinity to one processor, run it as administrator and compatibility with windows xp sp2 and windows me or 98 and still no luck.. what am i doing wrong here? ...
btw, I have shsh saved on my pc, will i be able to downgrade my bb with tiny umbrella or just the fw.. thanks
I just did a complete restore of this firmare_4.2.1_8C148_Restore using Itunes, then tried to JB with redsn0w 0.9.6RC8 using the same IPSW and then after it say's it finished on redsnow and it tries to download ramdisc, no hardisc shows on my iphone it turns to white screen then black and it stays black screen. what am i doing wrong here? this is just frustrating. help me out guys..
