    Default whats the difference between

The 4.2.1 I got from Apple and the 4.2.1 that I downloaded from here.

    ModMyi Forums - Downloads - iPhone 3GS 4.2.1

Ever since I upgraded from 4.1 I have had a lot of reception issues at work. So my friend told me to come get a custom firmware from here, but I cant seem to find any info on the differences (if any).

Im completely stock non jailbroken btw.

    thanks!

I had a feeling that was the case.

Any info on why the 4.2.1 is graded A+ but the 4.1 is an F?

No idea. Not sure if that really means anything.

Ya, just checked. That doesn't mean anything. That is just people like me or you rating it. People probably didn't like 4.1 that much because it locked iPhones at the time.

You need to point redsnow to where you have the 4.1 firmware. Download it to your desktop to find it easily. Make sure to download the firmware file with firefox otherwise it will download in the wrong format.

yup, or you can download it with internet explorer but you may have to rename the extension from .zip to .ipsw.

That's probably where firefox downloads things by default.

If you weren't having any issues before then a restore from backup should be fine.
