Thread: Trouble restoring
10-19-2010, 02:55 PM #1Trouble restoring
I have two 3GS
One on 4.0.1 - jailbroken with jailbreakme. Reset to wipe out contents and now I get the non stop loop. I am not too sure how to restore back to 4.0.1 - I've tried the new Tiny umbrella, but I must be doing something wrong.
I also have a 3.1.3 - I did the same thing, reset the phone to wipe out all the information and then it got stuck in apple logo. I put it into recovery mode and tried to restore it back to 3.1.3 but I wasn't able to. Any helps of tips would be appreciated. Thanks!

Never do a master reset, resetting will reset your jailbreaks too , thus causing the frozen iphone.
You have to point your hosts file towards Cydia server first if you have shsh blogs
Run Notepad as Admin , open up hosts file and add this line :
save it and reboots your pc
Now do the Shift + Restore

I've tried that already, it doesn't work on either phones.

It means that the verifying of shsh blogs is not correct. Go check your Tiny Umbrella and the hosts file is configured correctly.
Run tiny umbrella, see what shsh blogs you have
Are you restoring to the same firmware ?

get the latest tinyumbrella 4.1.5 plug in your phone & start it up click the advanced box request version 3.1.3 for your 3gs IF you have your SHSH saved on cydia it will say so IN GREEN if not not sure what you can do..If theyve been saved start TSS server in TU then start iTunes hold SHIFT while hitting the restore button find the 3.1.3 OS you've previously downloaded from here ModMyi Forums - Downloads - iPhone 3GS 3.1.3 sit back & relax untill its done...It may give you a error saying it couldnt be upgraded if so hit the "kick device out of recovery button in TU phone will reboot once or twice & should be back to 3.1.3 I just finished doing this not 30 seconds ago

I have blobs on my 3.1.3 but no on the 4.0.1
Yes I want to keep it the same firmware, or upgrade but keep the basefirm unlockable

You can redo your 3.1.3 the same way i described above but your 4.0.1 is SOL unless you somehow get lucky & TU says its in recovery mode & is able to kick it out of it...If not then your going to lose your unlock when you upgrade to 4.1

It keeps popping out with error 3002 on 3.1.3

Are you sure your blobs are saved to cydia?

It give me the option to kick out of recovery.
When i click it, the screen blacks out for a minute then goes back to plug into itunes

If you have your 3gs 3.1.3 shsh saved with Cydia, then put your iphone into recovery , Start Tss Server , Do the Shift + Restore to 3.1.3. You must direct TU to look for 3.1.3 shsh while running Tss Server.

How do I direct TU to look at 3.1.3 shsh while running TSS server?
10-19-2010, 07:06 PM #15
In Tu,you must select the 3.1.3 shsh blogs before you start Tss Server
10-19-2010, 07:14 PM #16
I don't know where it is located in the new TU
10-19-2010, 07:17 PM #17
click the advanced box request version 3.1.3 from cydia..Once its found start TSS server.Open iTunes shift restore your phone using the 3.1.3 OS you downloaded..
10-19-2010, 07:17 PM #18
What version of TU are you using

You said in your earlier post, you have 3.1.3 shsh blogs saved in TU, so now since your iphone is not bootable, put it in recovery mode, select your 3gs on the left side, select the correct 3gs 3.1.3 shsh blogs at the bottom right side and start tss server, do the shift + restore to 3.1.3.
If you don't have it stored in TU, you are not going to see it.
