Just a thought, but isnt the 3194 error caused by usb ports?? Try plugging the cable into a different port... Just seem to remember reading that somewhere :s could be completely wrong!

Don't know how many times us mods have to say today or any day.
LINKING TO CUSTOM FIRMWARE IS NOT ALLOWED AND WILL RESULT IN AN INFRACTION.
BTW One1 knows the rules and does not link to custom firmware. He links to original firmware. So other users are going against the rules on his thread that he made legit.Last edited by Cer0; 06-22-2010 at 08:57 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

can the OP or anyone else clarify if we have to revert the changes to host file to the way it was originally? is it going to screw with any of the legit upgrades?

I think it would benefit you greatly to understand what you are doing so you don't have to ask that question as this is done for a specific reason. Read the link earlier in the thread to Saurik's site.

Hey guys I just got an iPhone and I want to put 3.1.2 on it to jailbreak/unlock it so I can use it with t-mobile. I've been going crazy the past few hours as I just cannot get 3.1.2 or any other firmware on here.
At first I was getting a 3194 error, now I am gettingThe iPhone "iPhone" cannot be restored at this time because of the iPhone software update server could not be contacted or is temporarily unavailable.
