Downgrade help please! On 3.1.2

Hello all,

First of all I sold my phone on Ebay...I went to the ERASE ALL CONTENT in settings...its a been a day and its still not done...its hanging up...

So is there a way I can get it into recovery mode to be redone?

Also it was jailbroken on 3.1.2 version with AT&T service.

Is there a way to go back to the 3.2.1 version? I know Apple isn't verifying this firmware anymore so I hope this is fixable since it was on 3.1.2

Any advice or suggestions would be great please help me =)

This is the only option since you are stuck, you can only restore if you have 3.1.2 shsh on file with Cydia. Have you edited your hosts file to Saurik Server in order to restore to 3.1.2.

I haven't done this any tutorial on how to do so mate? I am stuck right now...and steps please? I can only get in DFU recovery mode cause it got screwed up when I tried to do the delete all content stuff...

On your Windows PC Browse C->WINDOWS->system32->drivers->etc
(if you installed Windows on a different drive letter browse to that on instead of "C")
Right click on hosts and select Open.

add this line > 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com and save

and then restore to 3.1.2 again ( only if you have the shsh file )

Is it a 3G or a 3GS?

I did this using windows 7 and had to drag the hosts file to my desktop because it wouldn't let me alter it in \System32.
