I have an iphone 3Gs jailbroken/unlocked for 3.1.2 and it's malfunctioning so I need to send it back to apple? How do I restore it so that it is no longer unlocked/jailbroken?
Also, if it is updated to 3.1.3 when they send it back, will I still be able to unlock/jailbreak it?
I don't totally get this stuff. If you could advise, I'd really appreciate it.

If you are sending it into Apple, like by mail, then they will probably upgrade it to 3.1.3 no matter what. And possibly not get your orignal device in but a refurb; which you will not be able to jailbreak/unlock.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

I guess I'm hoping that maybe restoring will rid me of the issue though I think it is hardware.
Can you direct me to a place with step by step directions to restore to 3.1.2 so that I can unlock/jailbreak if this ends up true?
Thanks sooo much.
