    a jailbreak for 3.1.3 or a method to downgrade 3.1.3 to 3.1.2

is there a chance apple may allow users to once again downgrade?

You can downgrade right now if you have your shsh files on Cydia. Other than that, there's no way and there won't be.

So to answer the question, if any of the two happens, it'll be the jailbreak.

Final answer, Apple will never allow downgrading again.

Default sucessfull downgrade 3gs 3.1.3 to 3.1.2 with att service
iphone 3gs ATT new model 3.1.3 vista 64, shsh on file previously with cydia before i ugraded to 3.1.3

requiremnts: iphone, shsh on file with cydia, 3.1.2 firmware, blackrain, redsnow, itunes 9.0.2.25

    1. download and save to desktop (don't unzip) 3.1.2 firmware from internet. i think i used felixbruns or something
    2. right click notepad, run as admin, open computer>c:>windows>system32>drivers>etc>hosts add this entry with NO # in front of it 74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com
    3. put iphone in DFU mode not recovery, computer should beep notifying you usb device connected but screen should be black not itnes connect screen. google for exact directions.
    4. from itunes with phone connected and in DFU, shift click restore and select 3.1.2 firmware, error meassage at end 1015, thats fine, phone is now in recovery mode with itunes connect screen, shift click restore again with 3.1.2 firmware error 1015 again, everything is ok
    5. close itunes with iphone still connected
    6. run redsnow, browse to firmware select yes for new model and "run tethered boot only" do not install cydia
    7. wait for phone to boot now you have working service through ATT and 3.1.2 firmware. ok to update carrier settings.
    8. shut down phone and reboot now your back to itunes connect screen
    9. run blackrain and install cydia
    10. start downloading sick apps!!!!!

when i used redsnow to install cydia i experienced 3 crashes, one after installing caller id faker and another after a winterboard theme and another iphone just froze and had to re do the whole process. since installing cydia through black rain now problems as of yet. only thing i have noticed as of yet is when using openssh and ifunbox iphone is stated as jailed however when i used redsnow and jailbroke and installed cydia it was stated as jailbroken but i expericned 3 crashes. i also had trouble with 3rd party apps immedialty crashing and was able to resolve by setting up as new iphone in itunes. right now with the method described above and the following ctydia apps my phone has been working flawlessly.

1.winterboard with only the vivid theme and vivd battery
    2. cydialer
    3.haptic pro w/ sbsetting toggleopenssh
    4.sbsettings
    5.anyring
    6.quickreply for sms
7.at&t carrier logo (won't be able to update carrier setting with this installed, remove, update, reinstall)
    8.cyntact
    9.five icon dock
    10.springjumps
    11. openssh
    12.snappy

    hope this helps!!!!

Yeah, I guess that's it. Blackra1n does something that prevents the phone from activating whereas redsn0w doesn't. Good to know =)

Default Downgrade without saved files on SHSH
    Hey,
it is really easy to downgrade an iPhone from 3.1.3 to 3.1.2...

There are a few things you have to Download before you start:
    -iRecovery
    -libusb-win32-filter-bin-0.1.12.1
    -iPhone Firmware 3.1.2
-Blackra1n (if you wanna jailbreak your iPhone)

The first thing you have to do is to change a file in windows.
It is the file hosts. You can find that file here:
    c:/windows/system32/drivers/etc/
you have to open that file as admin.
In that file you have to go under the last line n add this:
    74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com

If you have changed that restart your Computer.

After the restart you can open iTunes n then you put your iPhone into DFU-mode. (hold power+home for 10 seconds n then hold only home for 10 seconds)

Then you have to hold the shift button and press restore in iTunes...the you have to choose your downloaded firmware 3.1.2

iTunes will restore your iPhone then...after you have done that you will get a message that it didn't work. (1015 code)
    But this is Normal!

Now you have to install libusb...when it's done open lib usb and then run cmd from windows.

put irecovery on the desktop n then do that:
    You will see there c:/Users/yourname>

    You have to add this:
    cd desktop
    irecovery -s
    setenv auto-boot true
    saveenv
    exit
    reboot

After that your iPhone will come out of recovery mode n it is done!

You can now (if you iPhone is activated then) jailbreak your iPhone with blackra1n

This is all covered in the guides section. Also, this only works if you've stored your SHSH files.

    Default Iphone 3G downgrade
Hey Mr. why you want to downgrade ur iphone to 1.1.4 !!
1- your current version is jailbroken using Spirit Jailbreak Spirit , and unlockable using ultrasn0w
2- if ur current version is broken and damaged u could restore to 4.1 or 4.2.1 i dont remember , without need
to shsh then jailbreak it usind JailbreakMe 3.0 or redsn0w and unlock by flashing ur baseband to 6.15
3- more tutorials are found on iClarified - Apple News and Tutorials ( jailbreak and unlock wizard )
