    Default Brand New 3G[S]

    Hi All,

My gf has just ordered a brand new 3G[S] from Orange today and I'm curious as to whether or not she will be able to SIM unlock it. I'm guessing it will come preloaded with 3.1.2 and the newest version of Apple's bootloader.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated,

    Thanks,

    Vel

3.1.2 is jailbreakable with blackra1n. Baseband 5.11.07 is unlockable with blacksn0w. The brand new 3GS comes with a new iBoot which will force a tethered jailbreak which means that each and every time you turn off the phone you MUST use blackra1n to boot.

You can't use Pwnage tool to JB the new 3.1.2. It only allows you to upgrade from a Pwned firmware to the current 3.1.2. Blackra1n is your only option for now.

I reckoned the iphones by Orange is unlocked since O2 is already allowing unlocks.

Thanks, I'll keep an eye out for an untethered option and just use the tethered option in the meantime, thanks again for all the help guys
