Its rediculous saying the only reason anyone is not going to release a jailbreak is because their going to wait untill the next phones are released in June...Uhhhh all the phones are already complete programmed with their OS & in the packaging department..Its going to take at least 3 months to package a few million iphones/touches...
I dont see what their waiting for or what anyone would "think" apple is going to close if its released...The 4g phones are done already going into their pretty little boxes..
Their prolly working on the 5gs by now..lol

I think we're misunderstanding each other. Blackra1n doesn't downgrade and it doesn't unlock. Blackra1n simply jailbreaks.
Blacksn0w doesn't downgrade and it doesn't jailbreak. It does however unlock the phone for use with unofficial carriers.
05.11.07 is unlockable with blacksn0w.

It doesn't seem like this guy knows what he's talking about. He first says that the 'ineligible build' is something that you can just skip but in the comments he writes that you need to edit your hosts file.
Also, I don't see how he'd get a custom firmware on a phone with the new bootrom.

Don't mind me asking a few questions here.
I bought my iphone 3gs during the last week of december 2009 and my serial number is 85948xxxxxx. I assume i am using the new iboot (359.3.2) as when i got my iphone it was version 3.1.2 and i did a jb using blackra1n and what i got was tethered jailbreak.
now there is a release of 3.1.3 and I have read that 3.1.3 cannot be jb. Is it true? I'm hesitating to upgrade to 3.1.3 due to this.
I don't mind a tethered jb but can i upgrade to the 3.1.3 and use blackra1n to jb it?
