Setup for 3GS downgrading, but what about 3G?

I followed instructions for storing ECID on Saurik's server (cydia shows it is stored). My wife however has a 3G. What do I need to do to be able to downgrade FW (we both are on 3.1.2) on her phone, if the need ever arises?

I heard iH8snow is releasing iREB 3.1.2 tomorrow, but am not sure what it does / is used for.

Any ideas?

3G doesn't require any special files, only 3GS.

Yea 3g is easy to downgrade . . . You can just use shift-restore the earlier firmware and then use quickpwn to sort it out then jb from there...

there's a good guide somewhere on this

Im trying to downgrade now and i have ecid on cydia server, got saurik instructions added the hosts #, but when it goes into recovery mode and I try to shift restore (windows) itunes says "firmware file is not compatible" any ideas. I want to downgrade coz after I upgraded to 3.1.2 my mail app doesn't work.???
