Tethering question for anyone who knows.
I got my iphone, stock in the box, with 3.1 OS.
Originally with OTB 3.1 the baseband would not allow for
tethering to work... my question is:
help.benm.... seeing as how jailbreak is out~
THANK GOD FOR GEOHOT!
and I am now running on 3.1 OTB newly jailbroken... anyone know if theres a fix on the way?? I have pdanet, and it is working...
thing is I like to take my phone around and its not really
hard persay to install the desktop application to connect the two together... I just found it much ezier to only have to plug my phone into the computer and be done....
So, with JB an all what are my options besides pdanet??

Unfortunately currently there is no known way to re-enable official tethering support on 3.1 or higher.
Reason being that as of 3.1 the carrier APN's are encrypted, and no one has found a way to bypass this as of yet.
Like you, I much preferred official tethering. I tried 3.1 which seemed to have nothing of any use for me, so actually ended up downgrading to 3.0 again (as I have my 3.0 ECID SHSH hash luckilly).
So basically, it sucks... but we'll have to wait and see if anyone figures out a way to bypass it.iGuru, aka macdotnub/mac.nub - Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/macdotnub
