2 weeks and not able to downgrade , help?

i have iphone 3gs upgraded by mistake to firmware 3.1
my phone locked , it is not open offecially though
tried hundereds of times to download but no success
i was last on firmware 3.01 and i clicked on make my life better in cydia
when i tried umbrella and put my ecid file and choose cydia and eddited the host file it can only grab the shsh file on the firmware 3.1 and not 3 or 3.01
and when i restore i get error( an error happened you can not restaure your iphone now , you can not contact iphone , try latter
help plz?

When did you click that link to "Make your life better" through Cydia?

Did it show that you had a 3.0 ECID on file, or just 3.1 ECID?

If it's just showing the 3.1 ECID (or did before you got stuck in this loop) you will need to upgrade to the 3.1 FW.

This can be done through a PWNAGE tool created 3.1 .ipsw which can avoid upgrading the baseband (if required) or through the standard 3.1 file, which can be downloaded most anywhere.

If the baseband is not an issue, I would just suggest upgrading to 3.1.2 and using Blackra1n to jailbreak.

If you have not upgraded to 3.1 yet and need the baseband unlocked still, you will need to get a pwnage modified 3.1 FW and I would point my HOSTS file to Saurik's server (assuming you DO have your ECID stored on his server) and install the modified 3.1 FW that way.
