    Default I hate asking

Im new to using a mac. And am trying to save the Hosts file. And it appears I dont have the security clearance. Ive added myself as an administrator for the file, and set my permissions as read/write. And it still wont allow me to save. Im definately a newbie to the mac platform but am a quick learner. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Many thanks for any input..

    j

You need to do it as root, type this in terminal:

    sudo pico /etc/hosts

btw, just copying the host file to your desktop, editing it, then copying it back works as well ^^
