    Default MAC OSX 3GS 3.0 Restore Tutorial
    Here is the mac osx 3.0 restore tutorial..

    open terminal and type:

    sudo /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit /etc/hosts” without the quotes

    Step 2 – Hit return and type in your admin password.It won’t show anything as you type

    Step 3 – A file will automatically open in TextEdit. In TextEdit, at the bottom of the document, hit return and paste in the following:
    74.208.105.171 gs.apple.com

    Step 4 – Save the file. Do NOT do a “Save As”. Close the file

    Step 5 – If you’re on OS X 10.4, reboot. If you’re on OS X 10.5, in a new terminal window, paste in:

    sudo dscacheutil -flushcache

    Hit return and type in your admin password

    Thank you for the info!!! I am running Snow Leopard and the cashe did not seem to do anything. I hope I did this correct. I have the 3GS with 3.1 am I now ready for the new jailbreak when it comes out ???
