Thread: Cydia deleted....

    Default Cydia deleted....
I have been jailbroken since the first week it was available.
I want to restore my 3.0 3gs back to 3.0 because I lost Cydia due to that one day event and the fixes did not help me. Unfortunatly I did not restore it before the 3.1 update. I have my iBSS and iBEC files stored and also did the purplera1n store(or whatever it was) so long ago it seems. Did that add me to the Cydia list? Or what???
Now I have added the line to /etc/hosts.
I have not tried to restore yet... want some feedback first.
Should I restore or wait till 3.1 is available?
If I can do the restore... do I need to start in dfu or recovery??
Thanks in advance for the help!! I know its a lot of questions... sorry.

If you don't have your files on saurik's server...you will not be able to restore to 3.0 now...the only firmware you can restore to is 3.1

iBSS and iBEC are probably useful but not until someone write something to use these files in the restore process...

Unless you clicked on the link in cydia, your files aren't on sauriks server and your restore will fail.
You'll have to wait for the new jailbreak

    What he said ^^

If your phone is currently jailbroken then you can find a custom 3.0 or 3.0.1 IPSW and restore to that. Once jailbroken.. always jailbroken.. no signed files need. Just NEVER restore to a stock firmware.

I believe I am in the same situation as Stingray88 without my iBSS and iBEC files. So my question is to Poseiden79. You said that one could create a custom 3.0 or 3.0.1 IPSW. How would you do that?

Are you sure? Then tell me how:

phone 3GS Jailbreaked with 3.0.1 no ECID / SHSH Data
Last Night i Reset my iPhone because i want a clean phone. Today it doesent Boot anymore, i see the Apple Logo and it stuck.

    Redsnow stuck on Activating Bundles
    Purplra1n stuck at "Done...Waiting!"

    Some help would be fine.

Think of it like this. Once you pwn your phone with pwnage tool or redsn0w the chain of trust has been broken forever until you restore to a stock firmware. Due to this fact you can download a pwned custom firmware any time you want and use that to restore. The ONLY time you get into trouble is if your phone has been restored to STOCK 3.1.
