Default Ecid registered now and forever
Question: If I grabbed my ecid when saurik was accepting them last week for 3.0, will I be prompted again through cydia for saving the ecid for 3.1 and later versions. Since I have my 3.0 ecid on file will his servers, will it automatically fetch my ecid for later versions with out me having to press the make my life easier button?

It is my understanding from reading Jays posts that each and every version has a separate hash code that Apple provides. AND that code must be saved in order to restore to that version. AND it is not automatically saved, you must plysically allow (press a button or something) Cydia to gather this information. AND this is required for all 3GS if you ever want to revert to that version till the end of time!

So I am on 3.0 iPhone and is "on file" now, when Saurik rolls out his service for 3.1 firmware, do I need to rush upgrading to 3.1 to get the ECID hashed or is it ok to wait for the Dev tem to release jailbreak?

^Wait for instructions from Jay/Cydia/Dev-Team/MMI -- all the usual places.
