If you remember Banners+ by Rudolf Lichtner and you liked how it brought Growl-like notifications to the iPad, then you will probably appreciate his newest creation – a free jailbreak tweak called MiniBanners that brings the same concept to mind on the iPhone and iPod touch. The difference in iOS 5 notification banners is illustrated above.

MiniBanners has no options to configure – instead, it takes over as soon as you install ...

With more amazing apps and innovative accessories released each day, the iPhone has become a serious photography tool. People are nuts about iPhonography. And why not? It's the camera that's always with you. And always connected. Shoot, edit, share... done. Lotsa megapixels, convenient and socially connected - what more could you ask?

While it can mostly replace a point-and-shoot, the 4 / 4S camera could use a little more versatility. Interchangeable lenses, better stability and protection to list a few.

You'd like to protect it and outfit it for better photography - the problem is, you need a bunch of products that are not designed to work together. Most lenses stick on with adhesive or magnets and they're incompatible with protective cases.

So... need a case. And ...

Wi-Fi options in iOS are limited compared to what you can do on your personal computer. From a personal computer you can not only join and disconnect from Wi-Fi networks, but also view a history of every Wi-Fi network you've ever been on and information about those networks. Unfortunately the iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad never came with this additional feature, but a new jailbreak tweak dubbed NetworkKnowledge by iOS developer rms aims to give you a little extra control.

Unlike the iPhone and iPod touch, the iPad has a really strange Notification Center interface. It doesn’t fill the whole screen, but instead only drops down in the middle. As a result of this, you don’t see all of the Status Bar elements in the top of Notification Center – just the time. The battery percentage, Wi-Fi indicators, and the word “iPad” still remain on the action status bar while the time is shown in the iPad’s Notification Center interface.

    NCFullStatusBar ...

In case you have been left out in the dark, Mobile Safari gained the Nitro JavaScript engine in iOS 4.3. The Nitro JavaScript engine in iOS 4.3 made Mobile Safari capable of loading JavaScript up to two times faster than Mobile Safari in iOS 4.2.1 could. One of the biggest beefs with third party Web browsers from Apple's App Store is that they lack this Nitro JavaScript engine because Apple doesn't allow the developers to tap into it.

    If you’re a hardcore fan ...
