Battery information is one thing that many iOS users like to know a lot about. Your battery is the one thing keeping your iOS device powered on and useful. If it dies, then your iOS device might as well be a paperweight until it gets charged up again.

While you can have a tiny little battery icon at the top right of your Status Bar with a complimentary battery percentage telling you what your current battery state is, it's not the most aesthetically pleasing way to see your battery information shown to you.

A new solution is BatteryStatusBar by iOS developer John Rickman, which uses the entire width of the Status Bar to show you your battery level without taking up any space in your Status Bar. With it, you can lose the battery icon and the battery percentage completely with some other kind of Status Bar customization tweak, and a progress line will show you your battery percentage in real time instead. Shown above, BatteryStatusBar is out of the way of icons in the Status Bar.

BatteryStatusBar is fully customizable. You can configure the height of the bar, the colors of the bar, the position on the Status Bar, and easily enable or disable the tweak on demand from the tweak's preferences pane, which can be found in the Settings application:

By default, the tweak uses the following colors for the following battery percentages: >65% = Green, <65% and >30% = Orangish, <30% = Red. Since the colors are fully customizable, you won't have to deal with these colors if ...

Once installed, when you open SpotLight by swiping down on your Home Screen, you will find an alphabetically-organized list of applications ...

If you like the idea of adding useful weather information to your Lock Screen, but you don't want to clutter up the original Apple-looking Lock Screen interface with widgets and additional information, then check out this new jailbreak tweak called SlideWeather by iOS developer Phillip Tennen.

There are a lot of benefits to using the built-in HDR mode that's available in Apple's Camera application. For one, it takes two photographs, one light and one dark, and then combines the two to ensure that the photo is neither too dark, nor too light.

With that being said, if you want the feature enabled at all times without the possibility of it being accidentally turned off without you knowing, then check out a new free jailbreak tweak called AlwaysHDREnabled by iOS developer ...

To add touch gesture controls to video-playing interfaces in iOS, check out a new free jailbreak tweak called VideoGestures by iOS developer Davide Fresilli.

Once installed, you can use one finger and swipe up or down to adjust the video's volume, or you can swipe left or right to fast forward or rewind:

You can still opt to use the touch buttons if you want, but if they're already hidden, the gestures might give you just that extra ounce of convenience. ...

One of the features of the iOS 7 App Store application that I never really use is the "Near Me" tab. In fact, I usually wish it wasn't there in the first place because I always end up tapping on it when I don't mean to, and many of you might be in the same boat.

If so, then a new free jailbreak tweak called NoNearMe by iOS developer Josh Doctors is now available for free in Cydia that will hide the Near Me tab from the App Store ...

It can be really annoying when you record a video in portrait mode, and then when you try to watch the video on the computer screen later on, everything looks so small because the video only fills your widescreen display top to bottom instead of side to side.

Sometimes, recording the video in portrait mode comes naturally to us, just because we normally hold our iPhones in that position. A new free jailbreak tweak called VerticalVideoSyndrome by iOS developer Josh ...
