iOS 5 comes with a native emoji keyboard, which can be effortlessly enabled from the keyboard preferences in the Settings application. While easy, it still can be cumbersome having to search through your emoji keyboard for the face that you want to use. Don’t you wish that just typing out a face would automatically convert to an emoji face when you sent a text message out to someone?

If you’re one of those people who find it too cumbersome to open your Notes application from your home screen, then maybe you will appreciate being able to take notes from Notification Center. We’ve seen functionality like this before with the recent MemoCenter for Notification Center widget, but to be honest it doesn’t look half as nice as what we’re about to show you. This new free note-taking jailbreak widget is dubbed NoteMe for Notification Center iOS ...

If you remember this week's release of SpeakEvents, then you know where this is going. Aloud is an awesome new jailbreak tweak by iOS developer Ori Kadosh that will speak your notifications when you get them using Samantha’s voice (The voice that powers Siri). If you are hard at seeing or you have been searching for an easy way to know what notifications you are getting when you are away from your screen, then you will love Aloud. Additionally, it comes with more preferences than SpeakEvents and costs half as much (for a limited time that is)!

Once we have installed Aloud from Cydia, there is a long list of preferences from the Settings application that we can dig into. First and foremost, we have the ability to enable and disable the tweak at ...

While Siri is a powerful iOS companion, she could be a lot more powerful if Apple permitted it. Unfortunately, they don’t – so we jailbreak our devices, and it allows us to do more with her. A recent jailbreak application called AssistantExtensions has provided a framework for developers to add more third-party support to Siri. One of the latest is an add-on for Siri dubbed SiriNBA by iOS developer Evan Coleman, which allows you to get information ...

Has it ever been a pet peeve of yours where Apple’s Find My Friends application demands that you sign in with your Apple ID each time you open the application when you don’t have a pass code set? This is an understandable security measure, making sure no one who grabs your iDevice can find out where your friends are located without their permission. Normally, the only way that Find My Friends will remember your Apple ID password for you is when ...
