That's the sound of my iPad hitting my coupe glass while I'm making this Corpse Reviver #2, a Prohibition era cocktail with Absinthe, gin, and Lillet Blanc.

I'm checking out 25 Classic Cocktails Volume 1, by All Sorts Media (disclaimer - I know the guys who made this), a new enhanced iBook which was just released. It is a media-rich tip of the hat to 25 of the best cocktails to come out of the 20s, 30s, and 40s, including videos, brief histories, ...

Brightness is something that most of us can agree is an important feature of any iOS device. Most of us like to have easy access to it; unfortunately, Apple makes us go digging into our settings to change it each time we need to adjust how bright our display is. A new free jailbreak tweak dubbed BrightVol by HASHBANG Productions makes it easy to adjust your brightness from anywhere.

Instead of adding any unnecessary interfaces to iOS, BrightVol uses a feature ...

For those of you that rely on Apple’s Mail application on iOS instead of some third party alternative, a new jailbreak tweak dubbed Attachments+ for Mail by iOS developer lordscotland makes the Mail application a lot more useful by giving it better file handling.

Attachments+ for Mail gives the user the ability to attach files from their file system, or from their Camera Roll, directly from the E-mail composition screen itself. It supports just about every kind of file you can think of. When composing an E-mail message, users will find two new buttons in the Action Menu when they hold ...

Back in September we previewed a tweak called PowerOptionsPro by iOS developer FreeApple. The tweak allows you to replace the rather limited 'slide to power off' menu with a menu that can do much more than just power the device off.

PowerOptionsPro is now available in the Cydia Store for 99¢. You will notice that the tweak has been slightly adjusted since the preview version. For example, the UI looks just a little different, and there are much more options to configure. We will take you through the changes.

    The first ...

Yesterday we showed you the Incipio Stowaway case for the iPhone 5; it was an all-in-one case that brought us some neat features. Today in our peek at iPhone 5 cases this week to assist in finding the right iPhone 5 case for the holidays, we will be showing you the Incipio Frequency case for the iPhone 5.

The Incipio Frequency case is a bare-bones snap-on case made entirely out of impact-resistant TPU-like material. Like the Incipio Feather, the Incipio Frequency is a minimalist case. It’s not as minimalist as the Feather, per se, but it really ...

For those of you that hate Apple’s implementation of multitasking in iOS, another option has surfaced in the Cydia Store dubbed jLauncher by iOS developer John Corbett that makes everything a whole lot easier to get to.

In Apple’s App Switcher, getting to the volume bar requires two swipes to the left and getting to your music controls requires one swipe to the left. Apart from those two problems, Apple’s App Switcher also lacks a brightness slider and a way to see the date and time. ...
